Living Stones

Mesembryanthemaceae is a large family of plants that is foreign to many of us. They take on many different alien like forms and are one of the many talking points with new vistors at GROW. Shown above are a few 'living rock' bowls that we have put together recently to show the masses what you can do with these odd plants from South Africa. Because of their specific care needs, many varities are not advisable to mix with other succulents when making succulent bowls. Mesembs are generally much tougher to grow, especially for those that are new to the succulent game, and really only need light waterings in the winter and just enough water in the summer to keep them from shriveling badly in the summer. For more specific info on these amazing plants please contact Nick directly at nick@grownursery.com.

Argyroderma species
Pleiospilos nelii 'Royal Flush'
Glottiphyllum oligocarpum
